If you'd like to try leafChat 2.1 before the final version is released, please download the new release candidate version. (The final version will be the same as this, with a few minor changes and any necessary bugfixes.)

Full list of changes

Windows installer .exe (4.3MB)
Mac installation .dmg (5.1MB)
Cross-platform .zip (5.1MB)

Please reply to this thread to let me know if you find any problems - especially if those problems didn't occur in 2.0. Thanks!

The zip download link points to the exe-file, despite the name. But no matter, fortunately you're consistent in your file naming so it was easy to grab the zip file. :) Don't know when I get around to cycling my client.

I have fixed the link. Thanks.

I just started the new client.

One thing that has happened so far is that I spuriously saw the output of a /who #somechannel command. This happened about 6 mins after connecting, so I'm not sure if it's related to the on-connect autojoins or not (12 channels for me, so it takes awhile... but not that long).

Yes, I've seen that occasionally :( I'm not sure why it happens, but it's obviously to do with the away tracking (which does /who periodically on each channel).

There are checks that are supposed to notice if other /who commands are executed, so they can be ignored, but I guess these don't work correctly. It probably needs to be implemented directly in the Server object... I'll see what I can do about changing it to use this approach for the release.

Yes, I've gotten plenty of these now. Seems to be on-going. It also seemed to happen once for each channel I was on, not sure if that was just randomness at work - but I did find one time where it happened has happened to one channel twice (so far).

It's a pity the IRC protocol doesn't associate a request id with a command...

Yes, I'll figure out a way to add request IDs internally, managed by the Server connection object. (Just for /who, initially.)

I've only seen this very rarely (maybe twice in the last month) so I thought it wasn't a big deal but I suspect if you're in 12 channels that is going to increase the chances.

I see it every day, at least.

In fact, I see it so often that I might downgrade to 2.0 unless 2.1 RC2 comes out soon...

You could add a script that hides them? :)

I'll try to do RC2 this weekend.

There's no UI-improvement with regards to the kick/op/voice items in the right-click context menu... Not sure if you meant to add that or not.

BTW, not sure what's the appropriate place for these. Clicking on "include another 3 months" gives some kind of Hazel Forums error:

About the missing feature - it's on my list but I think it turned out more difficult than I expected. I might have to just change the order rather than adding a separator.

About forum errors - this'll do, since the forum is only used for leafChat at present...
